Bridgestone History
Bridgestone traces its roots all the way back to April 9th, 1930, when the very first Bridgestone tire was produced. Founder Shojiro Ishibashi used funds from his rubber shoe business in Kureme, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, to open his own tire shop.
The company continued to grow from this point, both domestically and internationally. One of their first international plants opened in Singapore in 1965, continuing to open more international plants as the decade progressed, eventually making their way to America in 1967 with the Bridgestone Tire Company of America.
In more recent decades, Firestone Tire & Rubber Company joined the Bridgestone brand to further expand resources and connections. These names have become more commonplace at motorsport racing events and improved tire design in an effort to continuously provide useful products for drivers around the world.
Innovation
Bridgestone Tires engineers strive to improve the tires you invest in in order to provide safety and efficiency first. They provide tires for a wide range of products to meet your needs as a commuter.
This includes tire data for fleet managers, focusing on maximizing uptime. Run-flat tire technology allows you to drive up to 50 miles after a puncture and searching for different tire materials that can provide different benefits to drivers.
